Ice Cream
Social
The Ice Cream Social is held annually in
Brule (nine
miles west of Ogallala) the third Sunday in February. Homemade
hand churned ice cream is the highlight of this event!
Oregon Trail Home Show
This annual event is held at the Keith County
Fairgrounds in Ogallala the last weekend in February and features
venders whose focus is home improvement and betterment.
Brule Gun Show
This bi-annual event is held the last weekend of
February in
Brule (nine miles west of Ogallala) at the
Activity Center.

The Brule Volunteer Fire Department host this annual
fundraiser ball the first Saturday each March.

Annual Spring Classic Golf Tournament
A two-day golf tournament played at both
West Wind
Golf Course and
Bayside Golf Course, is hosted by the
Ogallala/Keith County Chamber of Commerce
Drovers. The tournament is the first of the season and
is held the last of April or first of May.

Classic Fishing Tournament
Held the first weekend of May, this annual
tournament is sponsored by the
Oregon Trail Trading Post
in Lewellen, 31 miles north of Ogallala.
Annual Shut Up and Fish Tournament
This annual tournament is held the third weekend of
May and is sponsored by the
Oregon Trail Trading Post.

Ash Hollow
Pageant
The Ash Hollow Pageant celebrates the spirit and
perseverance of the pioneers who traveled this area.
Located at Ash Hollow State Historic Park, three miles
southeast of Lewellen and 28 miles north of Ogallala.
The Pageant is held Father's Day weekend each year.
Optimist Junior Fishing Tournament
Sponsored by the Ogallala Optimist Club, this
tournament is open to teams of two, one of which must be
under the age of 16. The tournament is held the
third Saturday each June.

4th of July
Fireworks
The largest fireworks show between Omaha and Denver
is held in Ogallala each 4th of July. The show
starts just after sunset at Western Diamonds Sports
Complex.
Brule Evening in the Park
This relaxing evening in the park in
Brule features a
free-will Ice Cream Social with gospel singing
entertainment and is held annually the third Saturday in
July.
Annual Kites & Castles
This annual event is great fun for the entire
family! The white sand beaches at Lake McConaughy
are perfect for a sand castle building contest and kite
flying. Held the last Saturday in July, the day ends
with a concert and barbecue.

Brule Day
Brule Day includes a fun run/walk, pancake breakfast,
parade, sloppy joe lunch, flower show, kids' games, egg
toss, poker run, firefighter's water fight, supper at
the Brule Activity Center, Street Dance, and much, much
more! Brule Day is held the first Saturday in
August annually.
Keith County Fair & Rodeo
This
week-long event has something for every member
of your family including a parade, rodeo, antique
tractor pull and stock pickup pull, barbecue, nationally
known entertainers, sand volleyball tournament,
demolition derby, chuckwagon breakfast, horseshoe
pitching, and carnival. The fair is held the
second weekend in August.
Trans Mac Regatta Sailboat Race
The Trans Mac Regatta is held annually at Lake
McConaughy the third weekend in August.
Thunder in the Valley Bull Riding Classic
This annual bull riding event is hosted by the
Village of
Paxton on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
Governor's Cup Sailboat Regatta
The Governor's Cup is an annual sailboat race held
Labor Day Weekend each year.
Paxton Labor Day Celebration
Paxton, located 22 miles east of Ogallala at
Interstate 80 Exit 145, hosts this annual celebration
each Labor Day. The weekend includes a barbecue, parade,
street dance and a great time for everyone!

This annual wind surfing contest is held on the
shores of Lake McConaughy.

Annual Indian Summer Rendezvous
For years the people of Ogallala have welcomed the
Indian Summer Rendezvous and it's fans to celebrate our
colorful past with bands, live entertainment, dancing
and a diverse assortment of local talents The
Rendezvous is held 3rd weekend of September in downtown
Ogallala. The trademark big top tent in the center of
the Ogallala business district houses nearly all of the
events.

Annual Arts
& Crafts Show
Over 90 venders with homemade items make this a
craft show to attend. Held the third Saturday in
November at the Keith County Fairgrounds, the timing is
perfect to do some Holiday shopping!

Christmas
Parade of Lights
The Ogallala/Keith County Chamber Promotions
Committee organizes the Parade of Lights each year in
downtown Ogallala. The floats are festive, lighted and
kick off the holiday season. The annual parade is held
the Thursday after Thanksgiving.
Holiday Tour of Homes
Hosted by the Keith County Historical Society, this
annual tour of homes is held the first weekend in
December. Proceeds are used to maintain the
Mansion on the Hill.
National Indoor Tractor Pull
This nationally sanctioned tractor pull is held each
December at the Keith County Fairgrounds in Ogallala.
