Located 13 miles west of the dam on Hwy 92, Otter Creek offers excellent public and private facilities including two public boat ramps.  Its name comes from the spring fed creek which flows out of the sandhills into Lake McConaughy at this area.  The creek is a popular trout stream.

Otter Creek has a large protected cove for those times when a sudden storm turns the skies threatening and the lake's waters unfriendly.   There is a large area of mature cottonwood trees providing shelter for campers.
