Eagle Canyon is located approximately 15 miles west of the "Y" junction north of Ogallala on Hwy 26, and 5 miles north on an access road. It is one of few public access areas on the south side of Lake McConaughy. It is a favorite spot for fishermen wanting access to the west end of the lake from the south shore. Below Eagle Canyon is an area known as Eagle Gulch. The Game & Parks maintains a primitive campground for use by area visitors, and a boat ramp is also available. |
